An Art Reception was held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Families in Transition to celebrate the donation of thirty original works of art by The Art Connection. Founded as a nonprofit organization in 1995, The Art Connection's mission is to make visual art accessible to people who might not have exposure to art in their daily lives. The Art Connection identifies artists willing to donate their art, shows the artworks to qualified public and nonprofit agencies, and teaches them to care for the art. The works of art then become the permanent property of the agencies.

Since 2006 Families in Transition has been proudly displaying original artwork courtesy of The Art Connection.
