This year Families in Transition celebrated 20 years of providing a home and building hope for homeless individuals and families in the greater Manchester and Concord areas. A reception was held at our flagship store for our friends and supporters. We highlighted the impact that Families in Transition has had over its first 20 years, and provided tours of our “Family Mill” property, including a housing unit, our child care center, and OutFITters Thrift Store. A brief program included speakers Mayor Ted Gatsas, FIT Board Members, FIT Alumni Participant, and Staff.

The celebration also honored Maureen Beauregard, FIT Founder and President, who has dedicated her life to providing shelter and services to the homeless. It is through her passion, foresight and entrepreneurialism that Families in Transition has grown to what it is today. Watch this video that highlights her work and service, as recounted by individuals who have worked alongside her throughout FIT’s history.

The Maureen A. Beauregard Scholarship Fund was also introduced during the program. In honor of her dedication and commitment to helping eradicate homelessness in New Hampshire, the FIT Board of Directors and other supporters created this Fund to provide FIT participants and alumni of the program with financial resources to pursue continuing education. Recipients of the scholarship may use it towards tuition, books, technology, and other educational expenses.

Funds totaling $8,500 have been raised. Contributions to the Maureen A. Beauregard Scholarship Fund can be made online here. For more information, please contact [email protected] or call 603.641.9441 x242.
