Group Helps Homeless Provide Christmas To Their Children

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A nonprofit organization is working to help homeless families give a good Christmas to their children.

Families in Transition provides housing and services to the homeless in Manchester and Concord. It is organizing its annual Fit Wish drive, which makes holiday wishes of needy children come true.

For $75, donors can purchase three toys from a child’s wish list.

The donations allow struggling families to have a Christmas with gifts under their own tree.

“You’re able to really make a kid’s Christmas,” said Maureen Beauregard, president of Families in Transition. “We have about 175 kids. About a quarter of them are already taken care of, but we have a 20 percent increase over last year in kids.”

Anyone interested in helping can call Families in Transition at 603-641-9441.
