Annual Ice Golf Tournament
The 17th Annual
Pawtuckaway Open Charity Ice Golf Tournament and Chili Competition to Benefit Families in Transition was held on February 7, 2009.
Started by Donna and Eric Danis of Nottingham and friends from Pawtuckaway Lake, this event attracts golfing enthusiasts who like playing year-round even if that means in snow! One Hundred golfers play the course while others compete for the coveted Chili cook-off trophy. Proceeds from sponsors, entry fees and donations over the last 7 years have totaled $32,483 for Families in Transition. With this support, Families in Transition is able to further provide safe affordable housing and comprehensive support services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
