MANCHESTER, NH – Representatives Tom DeRosa and Alex Stanford from Senator Kelly Ayotte’s office teamed up with AmeriCorps groups for a National Service Day on Friday, March 15, 2013. More than 30 volunteers cleaned, prepped and painted several rooms at the former Manchester Community Resource Center at 177 Lake Ave in Manchester, NH, which will soon become the location for Families in Transition’s trauma-informed preschool program. The program is designed specifically to work with homeless youth and families through case management and child and family therapy.  Pictured from l. to r. MANCHESTER, NH – As a conclusion to AmeriCorps Week, AmeriCorps members participated in a day of service around the nation. On March 15, 2013, New Hampshire AmeriCorps branches came together to serve the Manchester community. Members from the Families in Transition VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Program, Student Conservation Association, City Year and AmeriCorps Victims Assistance Program prepped and painted several rooms at the former Manchester Community Resource Center at 177 Lake Ave in Manchester, New Hampshire, which will soon become the location for Families in Transition’s trauma-informed preschool program for participants in their program.
