Get Things Done for the State of New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, NH – The Families in Transition (FIT) AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Program is now recruiting for the 2015-2016 service year, beginning this summer. Help eliminate poverty in the Granite State by serving as a paid professional fulltime volunteer for one year at a nonprofit or government agency.

AmeriCorps* VISTA is a national service program that started in 1964 designed specifically to fight poverty. VISTA members commit to working full-time as paid professional volunteers for one year at a nonprofit organization or local government agency, working to fight illiteracy, improve health services, foster economic development, and otherwise assist low-income communities.

“We’re recruiting to fill twenty-one positions at sixteen nonprofits in New Hampshire,” said Emily Melhorn, Coordinator of Volunteers and the FIT VISTA Program. “These positions are vital to each organization, so that they can continue to provide their services to those who need it most.”

The Families in Transition VISTA positions are available in the following New Hampshire communities: Bedford, Claremont, Concord, Keene, Lebanon, Manchester, New Castle, and Portsmouth. Positions range from grant writing, program development, community outreach, employment and training, marketing, fundraising, and other activities to help organizations create effective and sustainable solutions to end poverty.
