Volunteering at FIT

Riley

Families in Transition depends upon the assistance and generosity of our volunteers and donors. Your help either through volunteer service, financial or in-kind support of our organization will provide the support necessary for Families in Transition to continue providing housing and services to homeless single parents and single women.

There are numerous volunteer opportunities at Families in Transition.
We can match you up with a project that fits your schedule, whether it be short-term or long term, weekly or even just a few hours per month.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Children's Literacy & Arts Program - Spend time with the kids in the program reading and working on art projects. There's a one hour a week commitment for six-week periods.
  • Teaching opportunities or share your knowledge
    • 1:1 GED Tutoring.
    • Offer one or more classes on a computer software program that you enjoy using.
    • Run a job search or resume-writing workshop as part of our Employment & Training Program.
    • Help someone practice their job interview skills by role-playing in a "mock interview."
  • Donation coordination - If you don't have the time to come in and volunteer, consider coordinating a drive for new and used items. For more information or ideas on types of projects to host, please contact Stephanie Tallini.
  • Family Outfitters - Our thrift store is always looking for people to help sort and put away the donations that it receives.

For more information on these or other volunteer opportunities, please contact Stephanie Tallini email link Coordinator of Volunteers & Donations at (603) 641-9441 ext. 262
