CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION RAISES OVER $100,000 FOR FAMILIES IN TRANSITION – NEW HORIZONS

Volunteers of the Years Awarded

Nearly 400 people gathered for the Families in Transition-New Horizons’ (FIT-NH) cinco de mayo celebration fundraising event which raised funds for its programming Pictured are (l. to r.) MANCHESTER, NH – Families in Transition – New Horizons (FIT-NH), a Manchester, Concord, Dover, and Wolfeboro, NH, based homeless services provider, raised over $100,000 at its annual cinco de mayo celebration. All money raised at the event will be used for Families in Transition programming, including housing and services for homeless families and individuals as well as their Family Willows Substance Use Treatment Center and recovery housing programs.

Maureen Beauregard, President and Julie Lynch, Volunteer & FIT VISTA Manager, pose with this years School group of the year. Youth Ambassadors from Trinity high school and the Manchester school district were honored for thier hard work and innovative ideas. 

The event is one of the agency’s largest fundraising events of the year. It featured live music by the Scott Spradling Band, food, a game of chance, live auction, and a participant of the program life story. In addition, Volunteers of the Year were recognized including; “School Group Volunteer of the Year” – Youth Ambassadors from Trinity High School and the Manchester School District; and “Youth Volunteer of the Year” – Kelly O’Brien from Trinity High School. 

“It is incredible to see a huge room filled with so many supporters,” said Maureen Beauregard, FIT-NH President. “Our agency has grown. In fact, we’ve merged with New Horizons so that we can help build a stronger continuum of care for those most in need in our community. We are working diligently towards that goal. We couldn’t do what we do without your support.”

Families in Transition – New Horizons is a nonprofit organization that provides hunger relief, emergency shelter, safe affordable housing, and supportive services to individuals and families who are homeless or in need, enabling them to gain self-sufficiency and respect. FIT-NH also owns and operates two thrift stores in Manchester and Concord, NH which serve as economic engines to help pay for services that FIT-NH provides.
