Easterseals’ gain: Now to fill Beauregard’s big shoes
New Hampshire Union Leader
August 17, 2019
The good news is that the highly regarded Maureen Beauregard has been named to head Easterseals NH. Not such good news may be the task of finding someone to fill her shoes at Manchester’s Families in Transition, which has just merged with New Horizons.
Beauregard founded Families in Transition nearly three decades ago. She saw a need to assist families who had been forced, for various reasons, from their homes. Her passion for the challenge convinced Manchester businesses and citizens and the city to help. They did, and do.
Just this year, Beauregard and FIT have taken on the New Horizons program that provides food and shelter to individuals at what is still known to many as the soup kitchen. FIT is a good fit for that effort, too.
A colleague told us last week that Beauregard’s success is not just that she is a competent leader but that she truly cares for what she is doing and whom she is serving.
No doubt that is part of why Easterseals NH has picked her to succeed Larry Gammon after his many years of successful service there.
Now it is the challenging task for Families in Transition to find someone to maintains that passion and commitment. We wish them well, as we do Beauregard in her new role.
