PORTSMOUTH — The Greg & The Morning Buzz morning radio show will hold its annual Lend A Helping Can radiothon to benefit 11 New Hampshire charities working to combat local hunger and homelessness.
On Thursday and Friday, Nov. 16-17, Greg & The Morning Buzz will extend its broadcast to a radiothon from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. On-air personalities will encourage listeners to donate to Lend A Helping Can by calling the station or by participating in an online auction.
Proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army of Manchester and Portsmouth, My Friend’s Place, New Horizons of New Hampshire, New Hampshire Food Bank, Community Action Partnership of Strafford County, Rockingham County Action, Community Partners, Families in Transition – New Horizons, David’s House and Cross Roads House.
“Our listeners have been supportive and donated for the past 26 years,” said Greg Kretschmar, on-air personality of The Morning Buzz show. “We couldn’t do it without them and all of our sponsors.”
Lend A Helping Can started 27 years ago as a canned food donation drive and grew into a radio auction and radiothon. Greg & The Morning Buzz raised more than $151,000 in 2016 and to date has raised more than $1 million to combat local hunger.
