MANCHESTER, NH – Because every woman deserves to feel beautiful, H2O Salon Spa has partnered with Families in Transition – New Horizons, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and social services to homeless families and individuals, for a variety of makeover events. Now, thanks to H2O Salon Spa, the women at Families in Transition – New Horizons can experience a little pampering, with a donation of upscale hair-care products from R+Co, according to a press statement.

H2O Salon Spa, in the Bedford Grove shopping center on South River Road, entered an R+Co competition for an outreach project, where salons carrying the product line could apply to have product donations made to a nonprofit organization.

H2O, a Best in New Hampshire award-winning salon ( was excited to apply on Families in Transition – New Horizons’s behalf, and the shelter was chosen to receive a delivery of about 50 specialty hair-care products.

“This is such a treat for these women, who can’t afford luxuries like this,” said FIT Donor Relations Manager Pamela Hawkes (

Ongoing professional education is a hallmark of H2O Salon Spa, so stylists can increase their professionalism and stay current on trends and techniques.

Because they need models, and “Because every woman deserves to feel beautiful,” H2O’s owner Heather Owen combines these workshops with community outreach.

Partnering with the nonprofit homeless services provider, H2O has offered free makeovers for women ready to reenter the workforce, getting an apartment, or after going through substance abuse recovery, for a number of years.

“When this competition was announced, we immediately thought of Families in Transition – New Horizons,” said Owen. “We’re were thrilled to be selected because of our ongoing work with FIT.”
