LINCOLN FINANCIAL FOUNDATION AWARDS FAMILIES IN TRANSITION GRANT
An Opportunity to Create Employment Readiness Program
MANCHESTER, NH – Families in Transition – New Horizons (FIT), a Manchester, Concord and Dover, NH, based homeless services provider, recently received a grant from Lincoln Financial Foundation. FIT will use the $11,533 grant to research evidence based employment practices in order to implement an innovative employment readiness program that addresses barriers faced by low-income citizens while seeking employment.
“Although employment readiness has always been a core component of our services, there are new challenges in the labor market that require a more intensive approach to ensuring access to sustaining work for our participants,” said FIT’s Founder and President, Maureen Beauregard. “The funds provided by Lincoln Financial Foundation will help us conduct research on best practices and provide training for our staff to create an employment readiness program in order to produce positive employment outcomes for the people whom we serve.”
Lincoln Financial Foundation is committed to making charitable contributions in the communities where it maintains a strong business presence. It firmly believes that strong economies begin with strong communities, which is why it focuses its philanthropic efforts in four strategic areas: arts, youth education, human services and workforce/economic development.
