About the VISTA Program
Formerly the Manchester VISTA Project (MVP), the Families in Transition VISTA Program is now the largest network of AmeriCorps*VISTAs (Volunteers in Service to America) living and serving throughout the state of New Hampshire. VISTAs work for one year at nonprofit and government organizations building programs that fight poverty and improve the quality of life for the most disadvantaged members of our community.
The VISTA Program is organized and run by Families in Transition, which currently partners with 26 organizations, called host sites, across the state to provide work sites for VISTAs. FIT also recruits new VISTAs and offers supervision by hosting monthly meetings, tracking VISTA progress, and offering general VISTA support throughout the year.
