FAMILIES IN TRANSITION RECEIVES FUNDING FROM ANAGNOST INVESTMENTS FOR THE NEW FAMILY PLACE RESOURCE CENTER AND SHELTER
$50,000 Awarded to Help Create Programming to Provide Housing and Services for Homeless Children and Their Families
MANCHESTER, NH – Families in Transition (FIT), a Manchester, Concord and Dover, NH, based homeless services provider, is the recipient of $50,000 donation from Anagnost Investments through the Community Development Finance Authority’s (CDFA) Tax Credit Program. The donation will help to sustain and enhance FIT’s housing and services for the homeless by helping to fund the construction of the Family Place Resource Center and Shelter in Manchester.
Dick Anagnost has been a member of Families in Transition’s Board of Directors since 2007 and was also the chairperson of FIT’s “I AM ONE: NH Day to End Childhood Homelessness” event this past September. Anagnost, President of Anagnost Investments, said regarding the donation, “Families on Transition steps in and takes care of those in need. This organization has become a star in our community. They have helped those in need at the most crucial times of being in need,” continued Anagnost.
Families in Transition’s Family Place Resource Center and Shelter Facility will provide comprehensive services and an emergency family shelter designed to meet the needs of homeless families and children. The dual purpose nature of the project will ensure that families with complex and varied needs are able to quickly and easily access the services that they need to regain housing stability and long-term wellness.
“We are very grateful for the support of Dick Anagnost and Anagnost Investments,” commented Maureen Beauregard, President of FIT. “Dick has been a supporter and board member of FIT for years and has been an essential force in our projects. This donation is vital to getting the project off of the ground.”
The construction of the new emergency family shelter is scheduled to begin in June 2015, but is contingent upon raising an additional $255,309 in cash donations and $75,000 in CDFA tax credits. Interested businesses and individuals can donate via FIT’s website at www.fitnh.org or by calling (603)641-1143 ex.324.
