MTS SERVICES HELPS TO FUND NEW EMERGENCY FAMILY SHELTER
Donation Puts Project Closer to Fundraising Goal
MANCHESTER, NH – Families in Transition (FIT), a Manchester, Concord and Dover, NH, based homeless services provider, is the recipient of $25,000 donation from MTS Services through the Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) Tax Credit Program. The donation will help to sustain and enhance FIT’s housing and services for the homeless by helping to fund the construction of the Family Place Resource Center and Shelter in Manchester.
“MTS Services is honored to be a long-time supporter of Families in Transition”, said Craig Gilroy, MTS Services Chief Financial Officer. “FIT’s commitment to fighting homelessness in their innovative way is a passion shared by all of us here at MTS Services. The state of NH has a unique program through the CDFA which enables companies like ours, through the purchase of tax credits, to direct our tax dollars to the organizations we believe in and without a doubt, FIT is one of them. Our continued commitment to them, through this program and others, makes a difference toward our common goal of ending homelessness in NH. “
The new facility will provide comprehensive services to some of Manchester’s most vulnerable citizens. Once an additional $410,000 is raised through donations from businesses, individuals, and foundations, and the new expanded emergency family shelter is built, it will also include a comprehensive resource center specifically designed to meet the needs of homeless families and children. The dual purpose nature of the project will ensure that families with complex and varied needs are able to quickly and easily access the services that they need to regain housing stability and long-term wellness.
“We are thankful for the support from MTS,” commented Maureen Beauregard, President of Families in Transition “This is a big project and the financial support of community is essential to its success. Our goal is to ensure that families are able to quickly and easily access the services that they need to regain housing stability and long-term wellness.”
