MANCHESTER, NH – People’s United Bank announced today that they will grant Families in Transition – New Horizons $20,000 for their new shelter in Manchester.
Families in Transition – New Horizons’s Family Place Resource Center and Shelter will provide the City of Manchester with a home for 80 parents with 120 children per year, guaranteed nutritious meals, on-site critical healthcare for children and families, access to on-site employment assistance and pre-employment skill building, specialized therapeutic preschool specifically for homeless children, and a warm place for homeless families with their children to wait when they have no place to go.
“With partners like People’s United Bank, we’re building the solution of getting children and their families off of the streets and into a safe place to stay,” commented Maureen Beauregard, President of Families in Transition – New Horizons. “By developing this new, one-of-a-kind, comprehensive center where homeless families can access a variety of services all under one roof, we know we’ll be helping to speed up the time it takes to get these families placed into a more permanent living situation. This is a much needed project and we’re very grateful for People’s support.”
“People’s United Bank is thrilled with the expansion of Families in Transition – New Horizons as they create a new shelter for parents and children,” said Dianne Mercier, People’s United Bank Division President – New Hampshire. “Having nutritious meals, healthcare, employment assistance and so much more in one place where these families are staying is critical to getting them back up on their feet and into permanent residency. The staff at FIT, work tirelessly to make sure these families have the support that they need so they can focus on a successful future.”
